I, as the Director of the VFW Riders, had asked the ALR if they would
joint us as an All Veterans Group going to Tucson Airport and bring the
advance group of 10 Soldiers home from their deployment to Iraq.
Betty Gripp, the first female VFW Commander for the state of Arizona,
joined us in welcoming the Soldiers home at the Tucson Airport where she
passed out calling cards from the VFW State of Arizona and the Ladies
Auxiliary of the State of Arizona. She also joined us in thanking the Soldiers from
the advance party for what they did while deployed to Iraq. The 11th
Signal Bde is the adopted unit of VFW Post 9972, Sierra Vista, AZ.
